Costs and Reimbursements treatments
In terms of costs and reimbursements, it makes no difference to you as a patient if you opt for the top quality of U-Clinic. With us you will receive excellent care from committed specialists who pay attention to your personal situation, at no extra cost to you. U-Clinic is a recognized clinic, specialized in the treatment of ‘intimate’ problems, such as hemorrhoids, varicose veins and excessive hair. The insurance sees us as an ‘ordinary’ hospital and therefore provides standard reimbursements for the treatments. The rates that U-Clinic charges for insured care are determined by the Dutch Healthcare Authority (NZA).
The first consultation is always reimbursed from the basic insurance!
If someone with a serious problem does not go to the doctor for fear of the costs, this can lead to unnecessary suffering and additional healthcare costs. That is why the insurers keep the threshold for the first visit to the doctor or specialist as low as possible. This means that they fully reimburse the first consultation, if there is a referral from the general practitioner. However, you should always take your own risk into account!
What about other costs and fees?
It is difficult to make general statements about the reimbursements for the treatments, because every insurer deals with this differently. And even within one company there are major differences per policy. Most medically necessary treatments are reimbursed. But when it comes to possible cosmetic decisions, the policy becomes less clear. For example, some varicose vein treatments are not reimbursed because they are not serious enough and do not pose a health risk. This also applies to skin therapy from Cosmedilight, such as permanent hair removal or camouflage therapy. Although with some policies you are allowed to spend an annual amount on this type of treatment.
The prices for this non-insured care can be found on the page about skin therapy.
And your specific case?
We understand that generalities like this don’t help you much. That is why we advise you to make use of the reimbursed first consultation in the event of complaints. If the specialist has made a diagnosis, he can also immediately tell you which treatment he recommends. If you then tell us with whom and with which package you are insured, we will immediately find out whether your treatment is reimbursed. You can then decide for yourself whether you want to continue. In any case, in case of serious medical problems that endanger your health – so if doing nothing is not an option – the treatment will always be reimbursed. So don’t take any chances and come by!
