Duplex examination of varicose veins
An accurate diagnosis
Proper treatment of varicose veins starts with a thorough diagnosis. Superficial varicose veins are easy to spot. But if there are larger varicose veins, which are deeper in the leg, then further investigation is needed to determine exactly where they are and how we can treat them.
The phlebologist will do this immediately during your first visit to U-Clinic with the duplex device, a kind of ultrasound with which we can look inside the leg. The duplex device makes the veins visible and shows the direction of blood flow. This way we can trace possible leaks and the cause of the varicose veins. We also see whether vessels are clogged with clots and whether the deep vein system is good.
During this examination, you must stand upright so that the vessels fill properly and are clearly visible. The examination is completely painless and harmless and takes about ten minutes.
Based on this examination, the phlebologist can make a proper diagnosis. He will then draw up a treatment plan together with you.
The special thing about U-Clinic is that the attending physician goes through the entire process with you, from the first introduction to the aftercare. A truly personal approach. Read more about this at: About U-Clinic .
