The skin therapists at U-Clinic Cosmedilight offer various peels. A peeling contains natural acids that cause the superficial (dead) skin cells to peel off more quickly. In addition, the division of new cells is stimulated. A peeling can be used for various indications:
- Cleansing effect on acne
- Skin refresher
- Fine wrinkles
- Slight pigment differences
There are different peels ranging from a light peel, which has subtle results and only has a small recovery period. To the deep peels that show a very clear result, but have a slightly longer recovery period.
How many peels do you need?
Depending on the purpose of the peeling, you can opt for a superficial, medium to deep peeling. For superficial and medium-deep peels, we advise you to undergo an average of 3 to 5 peels with an interval of 3 to 4 weeks. With deep peels, an average of 1 to 2 peels with a longer interval, which can vary from 4 weeks to several months, are sufficient.
During and after the peeling
You may experience a stinging or burning sensation during the peeling. Immediately after treatment, the skin may appear red and may swell slightly. If desired, the skin therapist can camouflage your face with Lycogel. In this way it will not be noticed that you have had a treatment and you can simply resume your daily activities.
Flaking may develop after 2 to 3 days. The degree of flaking differs per peeling and can vary from mild flaking to complete peeling of the entire skin. These reactions disappear again after 3 to 5 days with superficial and medium peeling. With deep peels, the flaking of the skin can last for 5 to 7 days.
During the entire course of treatment, you should protect your skin with sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher, to prevent the risk of hyperpigmentations.
